PRIDE runs many events throughout the year for both the benefit of our clients and fundraising purposes. Stay up-to-date on PRIDE events by joining the "Huntingdon County PRIDE" group on Facebook. Facebook

PRIDE Telethon

The annual PRIDE Telethon is a highly anticipated community event televised on the local Comcast Channel 17 and live from the Smithfield Firehall. This year's event spans from March 20th through the 23rd. The event combines a three day auction with a talent day in which many local organizations and individuals are featured. In addition, there are many special activities sponsored by businesses, individuals, organizations and schools in the days leading up to event. In the past, this event has raised approximately one-third of the annual operating budget for Huntingdon County PRIDE.

Saturday Talent Show

Saturday caps off the auction with a talent portion where local organizations and individuals show off their skills. In addition to the broadcast on the local Comcast Channel 17, this year's event will also be streamed live over the Internet.

Auction

Each year, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the telethon features hundreds of items up for auction. Bidding begins at 4pm on March 20th.

Special Events

Each year organizations from across the county organize and hold special events as fund raisers for the PRIDE Telethon. If your organization would like to help, contact the PRIDE office (643-5724 or apfingstl@huntingdonpride.org) for ideas, information, or to register your event.

10th Annual PRIDE Wing-Off

On March 10th, PRIDE kicked off the Telethon activities with it's annual Wing-off at the Smithfield Firehall.

PRIDE Plunge

This year, PRIDE held it's first (hopefully) annual PRIDE Plunge. Participants gathered at Camp Blue Diamond on March 16th to take a 'refreshing' dip in the lake. For those without the fortitude to take the plunge, they still had the opportunity to show their support by demonstrating their fear in the form of an organized 'Chicken Dance'.

Corporate Sponsors

Let us know if your business would like to join the group of corporate sponsors. Categories include Diamond ($5000+), Silver ($2000-$4999), Bronze ($1000-$1999), and PRIDE ($500-$999). Click here for more information on how to become a corporate sponsor call the PRIDE office.

PRIDE Chili Cook-Off

This year, PRIDE and super-supporter Jackson's will be hosting a Chili Cook-Off. Join us on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 1-4pm at Portstown Park and enjoy some of the best chili the area has to offer. In addition, there will be entertainment provided by the band Force of Habit, with special guest Steve Todaro. If chili isn't your thing, you can still stop by for the entertainment and other food that will be offered!

If you are interested in being a vendor, contact Adam at the PRIDE office by calling 814-643-5724 or emailing apfingstl@huntingdonpride.org.

PRIDE Olympix

A Pirate swabbing the deck at our 2011 OlympixEach year, the PRIDE Olympix brings teams from local organizations together to compete in quirky games that require some 'unusual' skills. If you are interested in fielding a team in this year's "Happy Birthday!" themed event, check out the following info:

The 2011 Olympix were held on October 18th and were one of our most successful. With 15 teams competing we were able to raise over $12,000, a 50% increase over last year's total. We appreciate all of the hard work put in by the 75 participants, numerious judges and volunteers, as well as our sponsor Mutual Benefit Group. The funds raised by this event are critical in helping us to continue the great programs that help our friends, relatives, and neighbors get the care they need. Check out photos from last year's pirate-themed event on our Facebook page. Bonney Forge was not only the competition winner, but was also the team raising the most funds (bringing in $2152). Thanks again to all of the participants.

PRIDE Cookbooks

A local favorite, PRIDE cookbooks are now for sale at the PRIDE office and other locations thoughout the county. For $20 you receive over 500 recipes provided by members of the local community.
